Where it began
Local support, built close to home.
Founder and President Joey Sesock grew up fascinated by aircraft and airshows. For his fourteenth birthday, his father gave him a discovery flight. Taking the controls turned a lifelong interest into a clear goal: to become a pilot.
Then came the cost of flight training. As Joey searched for scholarships, he found many aimed at statewide or national applicants, or at older students—but few focused on teenagers in Northeast Ohio.
He created Wings Up NE Ohio to offer the local support he had been looking for. Built by a local student for local students, the organization helps young people take their first steps toward aviation through scholarships, guidance, and community connection. The idea is simple: more young people should have the chance to pursue their dream of flying.
